In Luke chapter 9 we read his words of challenge to his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow me.” (Luke 9v23) What does it mean to take up our cross? What does it mean to live as a follower of Jesus? Over the next two weeks, Jon Brown will taking us through the first eight verses of Romans 12, which provide a similar challenge in what it means to live as a follower of Jesus within the church. Let us come to God’s word, with hearts that are soft, in humility, and ask for the help of the Spirit as we offer our bodies as living sacrifices.
