Kids

At Charlestown Presbyterian Church we love kids, because Jesus loves kids. All our kids ministries are about helping kids and families connect with Jesus and grow in their love and service of him.

Some of our kids’ ministries…

Kid's Church

Kids Church is a fun and engaging kids program run at CPC morning church. Each Kids Church team has a bunch of committed leaders who love Jesus and love kids. Kids Church is for all kids up to grade 6.

All kids start in the service with their families before heading out to Kids Church. Each Kids Church group varies but usually involves some games, teaching from the bible, discussion, prayer and a craft activity.

Sparklers Playgroup

Sparklers Playgroup is a mid-week ministry for families and their small kids, and is as much for the parents as for the kids. We provide a safe place for children and their families to grow through play, stories, and music. It is a place where families can connect with each other, connect to the church, and connect to Jesus. Playtime Connect is for families with kids from birth up to when they start school.

Youth

Charlestown Presbyterian Church has a dynamic youth community that has a diversity of young people following Jesus together. All our youth ministries are about helping youth connect with Jesus and grow in their love and service of him.

Impact Youth Group

Impact is a vibrant and engaging youth program designed to grow our teens as followers of Jesus. Impact meets weekly on Friday nights during the school term from 7pm-9pm. The night is made up of games, bible study, discussion, prayer and food. It’s fun, it’s social and it’s interactive. Anyone in year 7-12 is welcome.

Thrive

Thrive is a small group for those in year 7-8 which runs in conjunction with our CPC Sunday morning church Kid’s church program. They meet to encourage each other to follow Jesus through studying the bible, discussion and prayer.

Senior Youth Bible Study

SYBS is designed to spur on and equip our older teens as followers of Jesus. They meet to study God’s Word, discuss, think and pray for each other. It runs fortnightly during the school term from 4.15-5pm and is open to those in year 10-12

Young Adults

Sunday@6

At CPC we have a community of young people making the transition from high school to adult life together. On Sunday’s the 6pm service is the  service we attend. We call it Sunday@6.

Young Adults Small Group

We meet on a Tuesday night in a small group to study God’s Word, discuss it and pray for each other as we seek to follow Jesus the whole of our adult lives.

Fellowship & Food

We also meet together after Sunday@6 has finished. We usually head to someone’s home for further fellowship and food.

Men & Women

We run activities for everyone and we also run events specifically for men, and for women.

We make attending the Hunter Gospel Ministries, Women of Truth and Hunter Men’s Conventions a priority each year. We also run men’s social and evangelistic times (BBQ’s, Bowls and Butcher Nights) as well as Women’s social and outreach events (Coffee, High Teas and Gingerbread House Making Evenings).

Men's Events

Throughout the year the men get together for a time of fellowship. Normally this is a social time where we have breakfast together, go sailing, fishing or a BBQ. Many of our men go each year to the Hunter Men’s Convention where we have top class speakers who help us to grow in our faith.

Men's Small Group

We have a Men’s bible study that meets on a Tuesday evening. This group exists to encourage our men to press on in following Jesus and serving Him in every aspect of their lives.

Women's Events

Once a term the women get together for a time of fellowship. Sometimes it is purely social, at other times it might be for a ministry training, or an outreach or teaching event, but it’s always lots of fun with good food.

Women's Small Groups

At CPC there are various small groups which run during the week for women. Some meet during the day and some during the evenings, but they all meet to encourage our women to press on in following Jesus and serving Him.

Mature Aged

Charlestown Presbyterian Church is fortunate to have a wide range of regular attenders from 0-95. Most of our retirees are actively involved in our regular activities such as Sparklers Play Group, Women’s and Men’s Ministries, Small Groups and Outreach Events.

On top of this, once a month we run a group called JOY (Just Older Youth).

JOY is a simple concept in that each month we meet at a local coffee shop for fellowship and mutual encouragement. Once a term we run activities such as day trips, cards, singalongs, lunches where we can invite others along so that they can share in our JOY.
