Mission
We run a yearly mission trip to Vanuatu and partner with various mission workers around the world to help spread the Gospel to those who haven’t heard the word.
Events
We run annual events such as our annual Gala Concert, and important calendar events like Christmas & Easter.
Community Playgroup
We run a weekly playgroup to help connect parents in the area. Thursdays during school term.
Our Charlestown Services
Morning Church
9:45am
Our morning service caters to young and old, with both traditional hymns, modern worship songs, and a kids church song too.
We offer creche for the little ones, as well as kids church up to 16 years. Our service goes for about an hour, with a morning tea after.
Sunday@6
6:00pm
Our evening service is a contemporary service, with modern worship songs, sermon, and after church supper.
Stay afterwards for a chat and fellowship with others.

Runs from 9am to 6pm Sundays. Covers from Belmont in the south, Warners Bay in the west and Charlestown in the north.

Charlestown has the following bus routes:
10X – Direct from Newcastle CBD to Charlestown
11 – Newcastle to Charlestown via Jesmond
14 – Swansea Heads to Newcastle via Charlestown
22 – Charlestown to Newcastle West via Merewether
25 – Charlestown to Broadmeadow via Kotara
28 – Mount Hutton to Newcastle West via Broadmeadow & Newcastle Interchange
41 – Belmont to Charlestown via Croudace Bay & Mount Hutton
43 – Belmont to Charlestown via Floraville & Mount Hutton
48 – Belmont to Warners Bay via Redhead & Charlestown
Most of these services stop around Charlestown Square, which is only a 2-5 min walk (depending on which route you take)

Car
With limited onsite parking, the recommended place to park is the library carpark – just across the street from the church. Both street parking and the library carpark is free all day Sunday!
(Street parking and carpark is 2hrs free Mon-Sat and is regularly checked by parking inspectors)

We endeavour to speak the truth in love, in an atmosphere of God’s love. We desire to create a culture where we genuinely love each other not just on a Sunday but throughout the week.
A word from the senior minister: Stephen Taylor
On behalf of the congregation, I welcome you to Charlestown Presbyterian Church.
We are a group of Christians of all ages, in all stages of life and from all different backgrounds, who meet together to worship God and to encourage one another in their faith in Jesus.
- We meet at Charlestown (and Swansea) weekly but are committed to sharing the good news of Jesus to the whole world. We do that through helping the revitalisation of Churches in Wee Waa and Hamilton as well activity involving ourselves with mission teams and missionaries in Melbourne, Broome, Cambodia, Japan and Vanuatu.
- We are part of the Presbyterian Church of Australia which means we believe and teach the word of God, organise ourselves under the leadership of elders and deacons and have an evangelical, complementarian outlook.
- We are a Church of young and old, male and female, we are from all nations, rich and poor, mature believers as well as new Christians. We worship together, as well as study together, pray together, eat together, laugh together and do life together. We are committed to supporting each other in the walk of faith through the ups and downs of life while encouraging every member to use their spiritual gifts for the service of our great God.
