COVID-19 Response

Dear friends, Charlestown Presbyterian Church has suspended face to face meetings in response to the COVID-19 crisis.

We believe our Sovereign Lord is still with his people, that Jesus is the only place to turn for true hope in our world, and that we need to trust him first and foremost. We also believe, however, that to love our neighbour means we take special care for the most vulnerable amongst us. We believe it is in the best interests of our people and our community to cease all services to curb the spread of the virus

While we are practicing physical distancing, we especially encourage you to keep connecting with God’s people, and with God Himself through His Word and prayer.

There are interactive church services available to walk through with you and your loved ones. Click to watch a video sermon and download notes and bulletin for a complete home church service for March 29, 2020 and March 22, 2020.

We are hosting several online link-ups, including virtual morning teas after church, a virtual Sunday @ 6 service, and a prayer meeting each weeknight at 7pm. Please check our Facebook group (contact us if you need an invitation) for more information.

In the meantime:

  • Please feel free to contact us at any time to talk, or to ask for help or prayer
  • Remember that we don’t need to be fearful, instead let’s be faithful to God and compassionate to those around us so they will see Christians deal with these things in a different way
  • Please keep in touch with others from church, especially those you may not have spoken to for a while, or know are more isolated
  • Please continue to pray that people across the whole world will put their hope and trust in Jesus, who is Lord over sickness and death, and is willing and able to bring everyone into a relationship with the God who gives life
  • If you want to find out more about Jesus and the hope he gives, read or watch 2 Ways To Live

What can I expect when I visit?

When it comes to what we are and what we offer it’s simple.   We offer preaching that is rooted in the Bible and relevant to your daily life. We make no apology for preaching the Word of God.   We offer uplifting music, friendly child-care, and a loving church family.

Here are just a few things that are most often asked by our church guests.

What will happen when I visit for the first time?

If you are visiting for the first time, we will not embarrass you, have you stand up, or ask you to give money to our church. We know that many people want to check out the church and “be anonymous” for a while—and that’s fine with us! Come in, enjoy the atmosphere, and see if Charlestown Presbyterian could be your future church home.

How long are the services?
Most services last about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
What do you have for my kids?

During our Sunday morning services, we strive to create a safe and fun environment for your children. Children join in for the early part of the church service and then leave for Kids Church part way through. All helpers have a “Working With Children Check” accreditation. Children from children from 0 – year 8 enjoy classes among kids of similar ages to learn about God and His great love.

Do you ask for money?
If you’re NEW to Charlestown Presbyterian Church we literally want NOTHING from you. Seriously. We’ll be offended if you give any.
What should I wear?

There is no dress code at Charlestown Presbyterian Church, for members or guests. Our ministry leaders and many of our church family dress in a smart casual way; however, our main goal is that you would feel welcome and comfortable on your visit here at Charlestown Presbyterian.

What kind of music should I expect to find?

We love great music that honours and glorifies God. You will enjoy the exciting way that we worship our Lord through heartfelt singing at each service. Our songs include both traditional hymns and more modern songs that honour God in a worshipful way.

We help kids and families connect with Jesus and grow in their love and service of him.

We have a diversity of young people following Jesus together.
