The Last Post (Revelation 8 & 9)
Hi,
Jesus prayed for his disciples this way “I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that world may believe that you have sent me.”
Jesus is praying that all Christians might be unified, as He and the Father and the Holy Spirit are perfectly unified. So how do we do that? Well in the book of Revelation there is unity around worship, all believers singing and praising God for who he is and what he has done.
And so today we have a chance to be unified in worship as well. Whether we are at home or at Church, whether we are old or young, rich or poor, Anglican or Presbyterian we can hear God’s word read and preached, sing God’s praises and plumb the depths of prayer not just as individual Christians but as unified Christians.
This service helps us as a Church to worship together, so please if you can’t make it to church express your unity by reading and participating in this act of worship. And during this worship we will pray for people throughout the world and we will be unified with other Christians across the globe as together we are reminded of our great and gracious God and seek to worship that great God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength.
So friends, let us worship God!
Your brother in Christ,
Stephen
